Heat Transfer

What is heat-transfer printing in sportswear manufacturing? It applies a pre-printed design onto a garment using heat and pressure, bonding crisp logos, names and numbers to the fabric surface. As a custom sportswear manufacturer, Cindra uses heat transfer for sharp, durable branding on synthetic and cotton garments where sublimation is not an option.

Frequently asked questions

What is heat-transfer printing?

Heat transfer applies a design, printed onto a carrier film or vinyl, to a garment using a heat press. The heat and pressure bond the design to the fabric surface, giving clean, opaque edges that are ideal for logos, names and numbers.

How is heat transfer different from sublimation printing?

Sublimation dyes the polyester fibre itself and only works on light synthetics, while heat transfer sits on the fabric surface and works on a wider range of materials, including cotton and dark garments. We select the method per project and garment.

Is heat transfer durable for sportswear?

Yes. Quality heat-transfer films are flexible and wash-resistant and hold up to repeated training and laundering when applied at the correct temperature and pressure, which is why it is widely used for team names and sponsor logos.

Can heat transfer be used on dark or cotton garments?

Yes. Unlike sublimation, heat transfer reproduces solid, opaque colours on dark and cotton fabrics, making it the right choice for cotton tees, hoodies and mixed-fabric teamwear.

What is the minimum order for heat-transfer branding?

We work with flexible MOQs and can combine heat transfer with other decoration methods on the same order. Share your artwork and quantities and we will advise the best approach.
